What This Position Is All About:

The Trainee Merchandise Administrator Team assists with clerical tasks and data entry related to specific merchandise departments of the company. The MAO primarily assists the Buying Team by creating and tracking purchase orders on line, properly setting up new items on the database, accurately inputting price changes and developing routine reports. This role requires frequent communication with the onshore Buying Team. The Trainee Merchandise Administrator will directly report to the Team Lead, Merchandising Operations.

  • Able to work independently with little supervision
  • The successful candidate must be a proactive self-starter with a dynamic and resilient nature able to work and lead in a fast-paced.
  • He/she will possess average communication and interpersonal skills in order to engage with stakeholders across the business and provide critical input to business teams
  • This individual will have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously with strict adherence to deadlines and routine problem solving with a willingness to learn
You also have:
  • Strong computer skills including MS Word and Excel
  • University or college degree

As the Trainee Merchandise Administrator, you will:

  • Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
  • Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests
  • Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
