What This Position Is All About:

The HBC India Vendor Relations / Help Desk team manages the resolution of Accounts Payable related queries received through email / phone from vendors and internal partners such as merchants, the Finance Shared Services team in North America and other business groups. The position provides overall operational leadership and direction to team leaders that oversee a team of associates involved in day-to-day resolution of queries, besides providing insights about business performance, proactively addressing situations, strengthening rapport with business partners, nurturing & retaining talent and a sustained approach towards improvement. The position will report to Director ? Procure To Pay.

 
Who You Are:
  • Strong written and verbal communication to handle customers and suppliers,
  • primarily from North America
  • Capable of working with minimal direction and proactively resolving potential problems
  • Lead the charge and propel the team through constant change and improvement
  • You also have:
  • 10-14 years of overall experience with minimum 4 years as a people leader
  • Proven expertise in leading teams handling customer queries (email / phone) ? Accounts Payable related query handling preferred
  • Prior experience in handling a team of 20+ associates who come from varied experiences
  • Prior exposure to leading team leaders (1+ year)
  • Possess strong Accounts Payable related analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle escalated issues in a composed, yet solution-oriented manner
  • Experience in people management hygiene routines such as performance management, career development, leader development
  • Role is expected to work a ?North American? shift pattern, approx. 5:00 P.M. ? 2:00 A.M. IST
 

As the Manager - Vendor Relations / Help Desk, you should have:

  • Exposure to tools like Mainframe, Oracle, Zen Desk (query management application)
  • Knowledge of reporting tools
  • Experience with leading teams in retail
  • Experience with both BPO and GIC environments
