What This Position Is All About:


Benefits specialist will be a key partner in assisting the compensation team with both immediate and long-term deliverables.  This role will review benefits communications and postings, in partnership with the benefits Broker; ensuring updates are timely and accurate. Additionally this role will follow up with any invoicing or outstanding approvals as it relates to benefits payments. This position will also be responsible for ensuring the validation of employee data for both compensation and benefits deliverables. This role will contribute to the day-to-day operations of benefits, including but not limited to market pricing requests. Additionally, this position will be a key contributor to the overall Compensation & Benefits team and will provide support in areas such as data validation, analysis and ad hoc report requests.

  • You are a natural problem-solver who is also intuitively analytical and creative


You Also Have:


  • 3+ of experience in Human Resources or Compensation & Benefits
  • Intermediate to advanced skills on MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word
  • Experience working with a mid-sized organization a plus 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Prior experience with benefits is preferred (i.e., open enrollment)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Graduate in Business Administration / Human Resources management (Preferred)
  • Thorough knowledge of the U.S.A. Corporate Benefits (Preferred)


As the Specialist, Benefits You Will:


  • Collaborate with the Compensation & Benefits team to assist in the collation, validation of data and any ad hoc requests
  • Connect with internal and external partners to review benefits communications prior to distribution
  • Connect with external partners to ensure benefits policies are up to date on the company intranet
  • Liaison with Compliance Consultants to ensure all labor & statutory compliances are adhered
  • Participate in benefits surveys to obtain the latest market information for benchmarking
  • Mapping of market data and best practices to take informed decisions / for new initiatives
  • Hands on experience with quantitative and qualitative research
  • Identify process improvement areas to reduce effort and enhance process throughput
  • Evaluating and establishing new processes and exploring avenues for automation
  • Follow up on any outstanding benefits invoices as needed
  • Complete evaluation and administration of Saks Benefits
