What This Position Is All About:

The role holder is responsible to lead and direct the QA team by defining strategy, approach and execution in projects. The incumbent will lead a team of 75 resources across various streams and seniority. Responsible for establishing and running the QA department in Information Technology with the objective of ensuring all projects are delivered using a ‘best-

practice' Project Delivery Approach and are delivered within the agreed scope, time, cost and quality.

  • The successful candidate should be a respected and proven professional with a quantifiable track record of success in delivering results within a large complex organization.
  • He/she must have the ability to quickly assess a new environment and develop solutions that support the business strategy, critical objectives, and cultural norms.
  • He/she must be creative with a strategic mindset along with the ability to turn concepts into action. He/she must have strong relationship building and influence skills, strong verbal, written communication skills and strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
  • The ideal candidate should be able to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities and stakeholders. The person should be an effective people manager, having led large teams.
You also have:
  • Minimum 16 years of work experience leading project delivery in IT having developed delivery framework using project management methodologies
  • Led team of 100+ employees and contractors
  • Experience across multiple projects, offshore and in-house.
  • Strong technical skills, both functional and non-functional, manual and automation, ideally in a continuous delivery environment.
  • Advocate of Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement and industry recognized Best Practices.
  • Experience managing testing departments or a testing function, managing large and complex activities and processes.
  • Prior experience in Retail in a GIC environment is highly desirable

As the Director – Information Technology, you will:

  • Overseeing the portfolio of QA projects, providing expert knowledge and support and monitoring progress and reporting on the portfolio status.
  • Managing projects/program directly.
  • Development, introduction and on-going iteration of the organization's Project Delivery Approach.
  • Developing impactful and lasting relationships with various stakeholders across the organization and providing valuable insights into the functioning of GICs in India
  • Thought leadership to strategically contribute to HBC's corporate goals.
