Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) is coming to India! We are in the process of setting up an integrated Global In-House Center, (GIC), in Bangalore to build a corporate team who will play an important role as HBC executes its strategic plan. This center will house several hundred highly talented individuals in the first two years and the office has potential to expand as the business grows. We will begin to build our team in Bangalore focused on Information Technology, Information Security, Finance and Accounting, in addition to Merchandising Operations and may then scale the operations to build capabilities in various other functions.

Reporting Relationship: The Associate, Sales Audit is a role within the HBC Finance & Accounting team reporting to the Team Lead, Sales Audit

Major Responsibilities


  • Responsible for daily, monthly sales audit activities in a timely manner and in full compliance with HBC policies and procedures
  • Ensure adherence to Sales Audit policies, internal control / audit requirements, and service standards
  • Reviews exceptions to determine the root cause of the exception and to determine solutions to resolve the issue
  • Consistently monitor key performance parameters of the process and identify and implement new ways to improve the quality of work as well as the means of working on processes
  • Manage sales transaction backlog and expedite processing as required. Work with global team to resolve issues impacting sales audit processing
  • Actively participate in various projects within the company as they relate to the Sales Audit system and sales feed programs
  • Assist IT with the testing and implementation of new system
  • Mentors and on-boards new team members to the team
  • Manage HBC resources to support Sales Audit activities including:
    • Exception handling (missing, reject, offline)
    • Analyze Unmatched Debit and Credit Card Transactions
    • Sales Clearing, Cash Clearing and Accounts Reconciliations      
    • Reconcile unmatched bank card and gift card transactions
    • Prepare reconciliations and period end journal entries

Personal Characteristics


The successful candidate must be a proactive self-starter with a dynamic and resilient nature able to work and lead in a fast-paced environment. This position requires highly developed analytical skills and to resolve complex reconciliation situations on a routine basis. He/she will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to engage with stakeholders across the business and provide critical input to business teams. This individual will have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with strict adherence to deadlines.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Basic financial aptitude with minimum 2+ years of work experience in Finance & Accounting with MNCs/GICs, (Retail industry focused on Sales Audit functions will be an added bonus)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication (written & oral), interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability in using sound judgment and good problem solving skills in resolving issues
  • Strong figure aptitude, detail oriented and high accuracy levels

Educational Credentials:

B.Com, Finance, Accounting or related degree


Office Hours

This role will be expected to work a “North American” shift pattern, approximately 5PM – 2AM IST
