Role Summary

This critical role entails conducting tests to uncover quality and risk-related insights that guide decision-making processes. The role includes mentoring junior members on various testing methodologies enriching their skills and understanding.  The Senior QA Tester also contributes to the creation of test strategies and diagnosis of complex issues.

As a Senior Analyst:

• Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies for functional, integration, performance & regression testing.Design, develop and maintain test automation scripts as needed.
• Execute test cases manually or through automated scripts.
• Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, test plans and test results.
• Conduct performance testing and identify the system bottleneck based on the test results.
• Drive and lead prioritization of testing activities, across teams as needed.
• Create product coverage outlines mind maps of what is to be tested.
• Analyze results of test sessions, draw meaningful conclusions, and suggest actions.
• Proactively learn and apply test design principles.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, operations and business stakeholders.
• Generate test ideas and heuristics.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders about quality issues and project status.
• Adhere to SCS's SOPs and Agile practices.
• Write clear and concise bug reports and steps to reproduce.
• Apply basic problem-solving skills.
• Coach junior members on test strategy, test execution and the use of test tools.
• Attend sprint planning meetings and discuss testing issues.
• Make continuous self-education a priority.Keep up to date with the evolution of the testing industry.
  
  

Key Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of cumulative manual or automation testing experience.
• Minimum 2 years experience with web-based and client-server retail applications.
• Minimum 2 years experience with test automation and performance testing.
• Extensive knowledge of functional, integration, regression and E2E testing is a mustProficient in system testing techniques.
• Possess hands-on experience with testing tools.
• Exposure to relational and document-oriented databases.Retail domain knowledge is an asset.
• Understanding of cloud application architecture and concepts.
  
• Experience in JIRA, and Confluence.Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and analyze root causes. 
• Ability to lead the development of project test strategy.Ability to act as a subject matter expert on a project.
• Ability to Identify tasks/ dependencies/ risks during backlog grooming/planning.Ability to provide reasonable test estimates.
• Ability to proactively learn and apply test design principlesAbility to create tests from stories/requirements
• Ability to execute tests and record test resultsAbility to communicate own ideas to other teams
• Ability to create effective test reporting.Ability to work through problems.Ability to articulate technical issues.
• Ability to coach and propagate valuable testing practices within the team.

  Preferred Qualifications (nice to haves): Experience with IBM Sterling OMS & familiarity  with CICD implementation
